Taralee - bilby has never shown a "self weaning" window, she has loved boobymilk the whole time, and shows no signs of stopping now. She can go without, for the period of being at childcare, but that's her limit it seems.
Neither of the speechies have mentioned anything about bf-ing. I know of quite a few people breastfeeding similar aged children, who are great at talking and eating solids, so it never occurred to me, that they might be a causation.
But unlike those other children, she has never gotten messy and played with food, from a tiny bub. I tried infant led solids with her, and she didn't take to that either.
i suspect bilby's sleeping patterns might be affected by her empty stomach, i think if she ate her dinner better (more of it), she would sleep better. All i got her to eat tonight was one tube of Rafferty's Garden (with tiny amount of farex stirred into it, as recommended by speech therapist). I got her to sniff and lick the spoon of the tuna mornay, but no amount of bubbles would get her to kiss the mornay, let alone take a small bite. no cigar tonight.
So of course, she was up and down like a yo yo after going to bed "mummy daddy, more eat". Got hysterical as her father was late home tonight. She clearly was worried he was never coming home again.
I went to the birthing rally in my city today, will be keen to find out how the main one in Canberra went.
