Nell - I have heard the pump can hurt the nipples, but it didnt for me. If it hurts only a little now to b/f, keep perservering (I cant say that enough, because its soooo true, its so easy to give up!).

p.s. I tend to think experts warn you off the pump/bottle as they see it as 1 step towards giving up b/f - but they are not going through the pain! If you are confident you want to b/f, and you will do it for how long YOU want..... I personally haven't had a problem, in fact its been a god send.
