Someone remind me - I need some hope!

    - How long til the grazing heals? I'm guessing it's getting there since it's itching like nothing else, itching tends to mean healing right?

    - How long til milk settles down once it comes in? My boobs are KILLING me! (I'm expressing for comfort but OW)

I think that's all for now. I just really hate this part, where my whole body aches, I'm sooo tired (probably made worse by my haemorrhage and incredibly low iron that needed a transfusion), and my milk's finally come in which is great, but I'm just a bit over it you know? I just need some hope, and I can't remember how long things took with Riv.

It DOES get better hun I promise. Try not to express too much or you will only make more milk. I know it's hard when your boobs are so full but give them a few more days and they will start to settle down and not get so engorged.

Make sure you are air drying your nipples so they can heal faster.

Try and take it easy and don't push yourself too far too fast. I had a bleed after Abbey and even though it wasn't major it ruined me for a couple of weeks. Add that to the night time feeds and it's not long before your body is crying out for a break.

As for the grazing, I am hearing you there. The itching is shocking and the having to wear pads all the time doesn't help. Try some herbal bath's, might help you to heal that bit quicker.

Enjoy your newborn little man and all there is to learn about him.

Huge hugs hun :hugs: It WILL get better

If its just a graze then it should be healing any day now...

As for your boobs I am trying to think back to my 1st as I didnt have much milk for my girls....

Um yes it does settle down once they realise how much milk your little one needs but as for when I really cant remember I think about the 2 week mark..

Sorry not much help but it been 8 yrs as of the 10th ...

Hi Nelle, congrats on your little man! My grazing started to feel better after the first week, by week two it was pretty bareable, I guess it just depends on where it is. My milk supply settled down (i.e not as "ouchy")after a few days, but I still got engorged at times, esp. overnight until DS was 6 weeks old.

I feel for you with the blood loss, I had the same with my first DS and I was a wreck for a long time, but that was because the hospital didn't give me a blood transfusion. You will recover much faster because you had one. Hang in there, by this time next week you will be feeling heaps better than you are right now and you will only get better and better I promise!
