I'm sure this has been covered before but just a quick question....
Hunter is 6 months old & if my hair keeps falling out at this rate i will be literally bald within weeks.... I'm starting to get a bit emotional about it.
This has been going on, hard core, for the last three months...
Should it stop soon? should i be seeing new hair growth? Is it related to bf'ing?
I had forgotten about hair loss after preg....
A few weeks ago I noticed large patches near my temples of this downy bum fluffy hair & started giggling when I remembered my hair falling out after having maddy & hyow I had these 1 inch long horns popping out near my temples (my hair is curly/wavy) the new growtrh just stood straight out & I guess I am getting them again...
But clumps of hair are falling out in shower or when I dry my hair...
I know I worried last time & I never managed to be bald, so I think in a few months it will all settle down again..
Melody I think it will be fine in a few weeks/months...
Dont focus on it, focus on your gorgeous bubba....
Mel I have had the same problem. I am leaving hair everytime in the shower..its following me in a trail....its been completely normal for me and by the time bubs is one year hair is back to normal.
Yeah i am losing hair like crazy. My friend is a hairdresser and she said that once you have baby a hormone you produced during pregnancy stops and this encourages your hair to fall out.
I have to empty the drain in the shower every 2nd day and the hair brush every day. It is awful.
I also keep my hair tied up as I dont want Jordan to pull it and put it in his mouth.
It is totally normal, so please try not to stress too much. It can take up to 12 months for your hair to stop falling out, (sorry I don't mean to scare you) esp if you are b/fing and with all the hormones that are still going around in our bodies. Maybe take some mulit vitamins, if you aren't taking any for b/fing. Also, there are some good hair and nail vitamins that may also help.
Yes, this is VERY normal. Mine started when bubs was 3 months old, and fell out with a vengeance, to the point that around my temples/above my ears was nearly bald. I had very long hair so that made it worse - I had to vacuum the bathroom every time I brushed my hair, when I washed it I had clumps come out, poor Makenzie continually had hair tangled around her fingers because she'd grab it and pull it out. She's nearly 9 months and I am still losing hair but not as much. I got so fed up with it though that yesterday I got it chopped off pretty short. She's crawling around the place now so she gets hairs stuck in her fingers and toes coz it's all over the carpet and the stupid vacuum cleaner doesn't pick it up properly.
When I had my haircut yesterday the hairdresser (had never been to her before, was a friend of SIL) asked me did I lose a lot of hair after having Makenzie, as she said I have all new hair growing around my temples and at the sides above my ears. So was good to hear it was growing back.
Not much you can really do about it, if you have long hair keeping it tied back in a ponytail seems to help stop all the hairs falling out everywhere so much.
Matthew is 10 months (still breastfeeding) and I`m 19 weeks pregnant and my hair is still falling out in big clumps, I`ve got used to it now and I`m not so worried as I was, it will stop one day or I`ll go bald - no chance of that happening as I have quite a thick mop.
It`s amazing how much hair we actually loose, it goes everywhere when I brush it and has clogged up the bathroom sink many times.
