Hi everyone, After the birth of my two bubs, I was uncertain which contraceptive I should use as the normal pill has failed me twice and Depo failed me once. Neither DH nor I like condoms as they burn me and make it less pleasurable for him and we DEF want more kids in a few years time. SO I had an IUD put it. six months of bleeding every two weeks, terrible cramps and feeling tired and terrible all the time and DH and I decided to get it out. Well, then what? The only other choice I had (I was told) was the mini pill. We tried just being careful, and that resulted in AF being a week late and me seriously feeling pg. AF arrived very heavily and DH and I decided to use Mini Pill. Well, almost two months into it and I'm getting spotting again. It's been less than two weeks since AF and I have NFI what is happening. I read that this can happen, but I just don't know I can trust it if I am getting breakthru bleeding.....any advice???
Kerrie - I had four periods (real heavy bleeding) in four weeks on the mini pill. It's definitley less effective than the full pill as theres less 'active ingredients' shall we say.
The other option is the implanon - a small hormone thingy inserted under the skin on the underside of your arm. It lasts three years and can be taken out whenever.I am having the depot in a couple of weeks - did it really fail for you? How long after you had it?

Kim, it just seems my body does not like hormones at all. I had the depo and I just didn't stop bleeding for 3 months (+ve HPT around wk 4/5 and lost it what I thought was naturally). Got sick of the bleeding at around 3 month mark and after an U/s was put on some tabs to stop me bleeding. I got the next injection anyway thinking things were prob still settling down (this is what Dr told me) and I had normal AF's for a couple of months and then nothing. Had another 2 injections and no AF at all. Then after the 3 months of the last injection, it took another 6 months till AF actually returned.... Over all was not impressed with it at all. But everyone reacts differently to it so u'll probably be fine!
I have had problems with every contraceptive avail. Haven't tried Implanion yet as I get migraines and they say it usually makes them worse. I couldn't handle more of them atm. It's hell trying to keep going looking after two babies when ur head is splitting and u can't rest. I get roughly one a month and that is enough for me!
So I am kinda stuck as to what I can use...... I also have sensitive skin which is why I burn after using condoms. Yay. GRR
oh, and I forgot to mention my last AF was 5days early.... I am starting to wonder if I was/am pg, but the bleeding was way too heavy and seems too heavy again. I don't know what to think. It's prob just breakthru bleeding from the minipill
someone help me I am SOOO confused. Last night the bleeding stopped and all I had was brown stained CM well same this morning untill I (TMI warning) pushed to do number 2 (feeling constipated today) and then I passed a clot and more bright red blood. I just don't know what to think and to make matters worse.....I start my new job tonight doing a full night shift. When I have AF I find it so hard to stay awake! This is not going to be fun. I Kept some of my morning pee so if my PG tests arrive today (fingers crossed) I can do a test to ease my mind. It's just so confusing to me atm! HELP
well once again I stopped bleeding and only had red CM and even now I am getting red streaked CM. Not much red, but noticable clot like things (sorry TMI). I went to Dr on Sat as it had me worried and we did a quick POAS and that was -ve. But I have since read that it takes a fair bit longer for HCG to reach the urine so I am waiting for my ebay POAS' to arrive. They didn't arrive today Dang it and I keep wondering. It's so frustrating. Even the Dr said I should test again in a week or two as I nearly always get -ves up untill around 10 days past AF due.... Hmm. I am just rambling....sorry. Better get back to FINALLY unpacking the master bedroom
