    Pap Smear ?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone found having a pap smear after giving birth uncomfortable? My pap smear is due and whilst I had my daughter almost 8 months ago, I haven't had the pleasure of having a sexual relationship since giving birth and am worried that it's going to really hurt. I keep putting it off, but I know I need to have it done. Any advice is welcomed.

i had my 6 week check up and was due for a pap smear so the doctor did one there and then. i had 2nd degree internal tearing so was a little anxious, plus i have always found pap smears to be on the slightly painful side anyway. but it didnt hurt at all. maybe i have been loosened up a bit or something but it was good to have a pap smear that didnt hurt. i am still a littl worried about DTD and am gonna try to put that off for another month or so, much to my partners dismay!!

My first one after I had Lindsay was no different to any other pain wise - it was just as uncomfortable. Although I had moved up in size with the 'duck bills' as I call them.

I had a pap smear at my 6 week check last week & found it less painful than previous smears (still quite uncomfortable)- but maybe the Ob is better at it than my GP or maybe there's more room there?

Mind you when the Ob did the VE during labour I wanted to kick him it was so painful so I don't know if that says anything on his skill level.
