I put on 25kgs through pregnancy and lost 15kgs in the first week. I had lots of fluid and also lost 1.8ltrs of blood but didn't get a blood transfusion. Olive weighed 4kgs. I think it's pretty normal to drop weight quickly after a baby but as everyone has pointed out, talk to someone if your worried.
When I got pregnant with Lyta, I was 92kgs. When I was weighed before I had her, I was 52kgs thanks to HG. I suffered a PPH and lost almost 3l of blood, transfused 2 bags overnight. I walked out of the hospital a 6 days later at 43kgs.
Apart from a 7 year battle with iron deficient anemia (which my most recent blood test has shown I have almost won!) and during which time I had 2 more kids while still suffering undiagnosed HG, I am in fairly good health. No related complications during either Sam or Harry's pregnancy or labour.
Just keep eating the yummy foods, stay active and you should be alright at the end of the day!
I put on 8kg throughout the pregnancy and lost 13kg within 8 days. But a lot of that was fluid (my ankles rivalled those of an elephant by the time DD was born).
I was a bit worried too TBH and I think I asked my ob at the time. Can't remember what he said but I've been fine (some of the weight creeped back anyway because I found that I was ravenous when I was expressing so would have a huge bowl of spag bol for breakfast).
But get yourself checked out if you're concerned. Worth putting your mind at rest.
I probably worried you enough in your other thread (in which i recommended a blood test for thyroid levels) but I meant to ask you if you were exerienced rapid weight loss ATM... because it's also a symptom of hyperthyroidism. So, yep, get your blood tested It was my second main concern (weight loss) when I saw my GP for my condition. Once again i'm not necessarily suggesting you have a problem with your thyroid... i certainly hope you don't! It's a shocking thing to have... but just for peace of mind stick with your plan of seeing your GP and getting a blood test done.
