    Still Sore

Dont mean to be a woose, but, how long does it hurt downstairs? I dont have so much pain with my stiches, occasional pain, but nothing major, its just the 'front' bits that hurt the most. Near on all the time. Admittly, more so when i am tired, or have been doing lots.
Is this all normal? Should i go back to my obs for a checkup?

My obs gave my Voltarin Rapid 50, i know you can get the Rapid 25 over the counter, should i go back and get some? It does say on the packet not recommened for b/f mothers, but, if obs gave it to me, and midwifes said to take it, it should be ok right?

I just really really need some relief from it. On top of being tired, i cant handle it much more.

I had occassional pain myself....i was taking panadeine forte to help with it. I still get the pain in what seems to be the same place ur referring too...but i dunno if thats cos of bub or not. My stitches had healed within 14 days and disolved by day 16 or so. Id get your OB or GP to check it out... possibly give it a few more days....if it gets worse id get it checked out asap.... might be nothing but least u will know.

Just try take it easy... i know its esier said then done.. but you and ur body needs a rest...its been thru a dramatic event!!

If medical experts say Voltarin is ok then it should be fine...if not ask your chemist and see what they say..

    Hi there..

I had a lot of pain for quite a while...and I definitely found that trying not to sit down too much really helped...if I got a chance to rest I lay on my side on the couch!

I found that took away the really bad pains really well, and if I started to sit down a lot again it flared up.

It does get easier with time...I had a very difficult birth and was extremely sore too but it did get a lot better after a few weeks..

I'm another one that had a lot of pain for a long while... I can't remember exactly how long but at least the first few weeks or more I could hardly sit down and then I still had a dull pain 'down there' for some months after bubs was born. It's only been in the last month or so that I've finally started to feel a bit more 'normal' down there (not that it will ever be 'normal' down there again I guess).

I had a sore hoohaa for about 4 weeks. Take some more voltarin for a few more days if it gives you relief. I think it's not recommended for long term ongoing use in b/f mothers but do check with the chemist JIC
The pain wasn't so much in the stitches site but just a general all over aching that was worse if I stood for too long like qing at Kmart. I nearly had to dump stuff and walk out when Caleb was 2 weeks old. It was agonising just standing there!

    Sam thats exactly it.
Thanks for everyones replys. As long as i know its normal, and really, that area does go thru a reasonably tramatic time, so, its only to be expected that it takes a while to recover.
The re assurance is great. I might get some more voltarin. It was a chemist man that said try to go without, as he read it and said it 'wasnt recommended', didnt say "dont use it", but maybe just might help when things are extra bad.

I was scared of going back to the obs, and him doing an internal or something....couldnt bear the thought

I had ongoing throbby pain for several months, turned out i had a little bit of a prolapse, and it was the weight of everything kind of hanging that caused the discomfort. I was horrified because I googled prolapse and there are some pretty scary pictures on the internet of 90 year old extreme prolapses (so don't google it). However, a good doctor hastened to assure me that, being mild, it would resolve over time. It did. Plenty of pelvic floor exercises, and take that discomfort as a sign that you need ot get of your feet and have a cup of tea.

    Hugs to you.

I had that dull aching pain in that area like Sammi it hsappened mainly after standing too long or holding my son for too long. It took about 9 months to go and only very occasionally it will come back now but that`s only after being up on my feet all day long.

In time it will heal but the feeling isn`t nice at all, hugs to you
