    stitches question/vaginal wall

I have 2nd degree perineum tearing and vaginal wall /labia tearing.

Just wondering has anyone else had vaginal wall tearing as well? if so how was the healing process for you? and did u have any problems with the area afterwards?

I still cant believe i have a tear inside, i would love to know how far up it goes or maybe not

Its been a week and i am still very red and bruised like inside

Hi Shell1, yes I had exactly the same thing. The best thing I can advise is pouring salt water over the area several times a day. Mine healed pretty quickly doing this, I can't remeber exactly how long it took - maybe a couple of weeks?

Good luck hun and congrats on the arrival of your beautiful girl!!!

i had quiet severe internal tearing as well, it healed quiet quickly, less painfull than the outside tearing, i did find that DTD hurt but thats to be expected, i dont think there is much you can do, other than taking it easy and using icepacks etc...

yep dtd will hurt for a while. (for some a long while). if you develop scar tissue you can rub vitamin e cream on it if you want to. as it is quite new, i recommend what the others have said, salt water, ice packs, if you have a shower head that can be lifted off and moved around you can aim it towards the sore area (gently, and i dont mean for it to go up inside but just running over it) i think mine felt better after about a few weeks. ( not hurting when you sit, move awkwardly etc).

Yep, I had a 2nd degree perineal tear and a vaginal wall tear. Expect to feel bruised and sore for a few more weeks. I think it was about 4 weeks until the swelling completely went away and my lochia finished shortly after that. By my 6 week checkup, everything was all good.

My stitches were around my vaginal wall just inside (so the midwife explained afterwards). It still feels a bit squishy in there and my pelvic floor feels quite weak, even though the physio in hospital checked it and said it was quite good considering.

Have plenty of warm salt baths if you can. It was the best advice I got from other lovely BB ladies It really helped. Plus during the day, stick your pads in the freezer so they are nice and cold which will help with the swelling.

I remember thinking at the time that this was never going to get better, but it does!

i had the labial tares (i had a triangle of skin stiched back together ). if its hurting to pee try some Vaseline on it - it makes it 'water proof'. or maybe lasnoh and salt baths help as well.
also. do you have any old connies laying around? fill 'em with water and freeze - perfectly sized ice packs! just put them inside your pad (like rip a hole in the top towards the back and pop it in there) that'll help with the swelling. HTH

I Had third degree tearing inside and out.
It killed to urinate afterwards and I only found it bearable by pouring a jug or water "down there" at the same time as i went. My tear was quite big though and in a bad spot.
it healed after about 5 weeks, though my stitches didnt dissolve like they said they would. I had to get them removed ! OUch ! When the swelling goes down a bit im sure you will have a look , dont be freaked out it will all heal well in time ....
