Unless you eat only sea salt (not table salt) and no fish or convenience foods (which usually contain iodised salt) it's very unlikely your hypothyroidism is iodine-deficiency. You can take kelp tablets if iodine is likely to be an issue.

My hypothyroidism came to light after DD was born too. Wait and see what your blood results are. Be assured that it is NOT difficult to treat and it's VERY common. In days gone by subclinical or borderline hypothyroidism was not diagnosed and sufferers just, well, suffered. Nowadays more people are diagnosed and less people have to suffer on.
