At this stage you still have massive amounts of hormones doing crazy thing, you are also likely to be extremely sleep deprived - it is normal to be overly emotional. If you feel that it might be getting beyond normal, talk to your midwife or doctor and tell them about your concerns. They will take you seriously and they will be able to tell you if it is normal or not. Give yourself time, you have been through a lot.
I have no idea about what's normal for cankles but I remember that by the time I left hospital I had smaller feet and I'm pretty sure that 2 weeks on I could see my feet again - that was after swelling so bad I couldn't even fit into my flip-flops. I would ring your midwives about that and ask if it's normal.
It's normal to feel really emotional but if it's getting so bad you can't cope you should see a Dr or talk to your MCHN.
mum going home would be really tough. i know that i hated it...
it's probably more to do with alot of hormones raging outta control atm. but if it doesnt seem right to you and you're not sure if you can get back on track by yourself then i recommend chatting to your MACH nurse or a good GP. sometimes just a debrief is the best remedy
What everyone else said... hormones do some horrible stuff, but if it's really bad, go see someone, sometimes just telling someone you feel like crap helps.
As for the swollen feet, mine went back to normal within a day or so with my first three. With Pie it actually got worse after giving birth & my blood pressure was up too. So if it doesn't get better it might be worth a trip to your GP.
Thankyou everyone for your hugs and support. I think I am probably more tired then I realise, as I always get very emotional when tired, but I promise if it doesn't get better I will see someone about it. At least the MCHN is coming for a home visit on tuesday so hopefully I can voice my concerns then. Thanks again for the support it is greatly appreciated.
