I expected a papsmear at my 6 week check up, but he doesn't do them so soon after having your baby vaginally. I was suprised. I didn't know that.

He just felt my tummy to make sure my uterus was shrinking nicely and all that jazz. BP, etc. I got a stitch aswell, so he asked about that, but it'd already gone so I don't know if he would have checked that out or not if it was still there.

He's also a GP so he checked over DS2 aswell. Nothing exciting.
Asked my questions, he asked his. Bleeding, Contraception, etc etc etc.

Good luck with your 6 week check and your babyboys 6week check too.

Mine was pretty uneventful. She didn't want to do a pap smear as I was spotting - AF arrived the next day. Discussed contraception. I had stitches but she basically just asked if they felt OK which they did then. Brock was checked over but he doesn't see a paed as he was well by the time we left hossy so it was the only chance I had of getting a few things checked.

My check up was also uneventful - she checked my c/s scar, uterus and blood pressure and discussed contraception. I did take DD with me and DH came with us. The admin staff wanted to see her and the OB was happy to see her too. Also the OB checked DD's heart for a heart murmur (which thankfully DD doesn't have). Not sure if they usually do that for babies though?

    Hi BW,

At my 6 week check up, we discussed contraception, papsmears but I wasn't due for one yet, so didn't have one, and discussed the birth. It felt good to discuss the birth - sort of cathartic, so I appreciated that he asked about my thoughts etc from the birth. It also gave me a chance to discuss things I wasn't too happy with at the birth (ie - totally useless midwife!). And despite having a number of stitches, he didn't check downstairs (and I was expecting him to, so I had cleaned up downstairs!!), he asked how it was and I said it felt fine, and he was happy with that. I didn't bring DD as someone told me not to but I wish I had as the OB and receptionists kept asking where she was because they wanted to see her!
