In my experience, if you take the hormonal pills during your period once it has started then it will only prolong your period and make the brown spotting continue for normal then longer. That may just be me though. Did you take the sugar pills when your period was around?
No because I was only starting the pill, so started on the active pills as it says to in the leaflet.
When I was on it as a teen it made no difference to my period what so ever, which is why I am a bit concerned.
I'll do a test in a few days time, in case this is implantation bleeding.
I think that is where the problem is. If you have the hormonal pills during your period, it wont stop your period once its started. Because you had only had your period for one day when you started the hormonals, the period has to continue and finish. The hormonal pills will just makes it lighter and more of that brownish blood than red blood.
In the past when I have gone back on the pill, my doctor has always told me to get back on it, start the 1st of the hormonal pills on the day after my period finishes.
Everyone's bodies are different though so who knows?![]()
I'm on a different pill, but I know my body reacted to it differently when I went back on it after having DD. It might just be that your body is going to react differently to it than it did when you were a teen?
Back when I took the pill (years ago) I was told to start on the sugar pills on the first day of AF. (I was on monofeme as well & they had days labeled I think.) I always started on the day of the week in the sugar ones.
I think from memory it slowed/stopped mine, but cen't remember. Sorry. I don't think I ever did it that way.
