i used to believe in this. but whatever i try for goes the oposite way. so i have stopped!
Some people have faith that they can visualise an event and it will then happen.
Do you have this belief?
Have you believed this at an earlier time, but no longer? why
I would like to believe it, but i think i have been burnt too many times. Maybe i don't have enough faith to make things happen?? Maybe my dreams are unattainable? Maybe i don't wait long enough? Or maybe i am a realist and thinking things can't make them happen.
I have been thinking about this for awhile, so would love to hear your thoughts.
i used to believe in this. but whatever i try for goes the oposite way. so i have stopped!
Yes I do believe it... to a certain extent. After my last miscarriage I saw a Shamanic healer and she 'spoke' to my spiritual guide and then came back and told me that I was so obsessed with falling pregnant that I kept manifesting these pregnancies (I fall pregnant quite easily) but the timing was all wrong and baby just wasnt ready so I would miscarry.
So yeah I believe you can create events with your thoughts but for them to work out how you want them too its all in the 'universes' timing... not your own.
Theres no harm in putting your desires out there and if its meant to be, it will be.
There is evidence that being able to visualise something helps you achieve it. Like nobody thought they could climb Everest but once someone did then suddenly a few people were able to afterwards (don't take that example literally, I can't remember what the actual examples are).
I think visualising success and having full intention of doing something does go a long way to be able to make it happen. But I also don't believe in the supernatural so I don't think you can fully will something into occurring. I do think there is more to energy and energy transfer going on in the universe than we yet understand or perceive so I think creating certain energy may attract the right energy but even then I wouldn't think it's a precise science that you could will yourself to be $1000 richer for example and it'll just happen.
Yep. And I think the basic forms of prayer are this as well. I've been able to do it since I was young. I do believe in it in a karmic way though. You put out what you give back. And this also goes to basic thoughts about things. Temperament, anger etc. so kindness and positivity go a long way. Whether it's with prayer or basic manifestation.
Not so much events, but life circumstances, yes.
I don't think it comes down to pure "visualisation" though. It's more about your energy surrounding that thing. So if you're "visualising" a new car while simultaneously pumping out financial desperation in all other aspects of your life, the car probably won't arrive as easily as you'd like.
The "energy" part of it is really important. You need to get clear on what it is you *really* want. For example, do you really want a new car, or do you just want a cheap and reliable form of transport that is convenient? In this example, affordability, reliability and convenience is the "essence" of the thing, not the new-ness or the car-ness.
This is where I think people go wrong - they fixate on specific "things" rather than discerning what is at the heart of what they want. When you drop into that level, it's not just about "visualising" or "believing", it harnesses the full power of your INTENT - which is a spiritual force. It acts on a different level and brings different kinds of rewards.
But here's the thing - you have to be ready for it. You need to be able to recognise it when it comes, and to take the actions you need to take to receive it and make it a part of your physical reality. If you're already closely energetically aligned, then it's much easier. Also, it doesn't really work on other people. I can visualise my DD's bedroom clean and tidy as much as I want, she has to be the person to do it.
I have found it this was as well.
If I am feeling down saying "I am happy" does nothing. Something has to click in me, like a moment of clarity which I come away from feeling excited about.
It worked for me with my current job, I was not interested in working in a traditional role, looking at job ads made me feel ill. I was looking for the elusive work from home opportunity. One day it just clicked, that what I really needed and wanted was a traditional job, and suddenly a weight was lifted. I thought clearly about what I could do, what was needed and what I wanted. Two days later the job was advertised and I got it. May have also helped that my boss doing his own prayers to find someone just right to fill the role![]()
And sometime what you think you want you don't always end up wanting. This has happened to me a few times. But in the end the experience was still positive and part of my learning.
Yes and no.
I believe there's power in words, and I think that by visualising and speaking things, it's almost like I'm practising getting/doing/being them - so when situations come up, I'm more ready, ITMS? And by practising, I'm more comfortable and more confident, so that impacts the way that people around you respond to and interact with you, etc.
I was always told to visualise, but I always found that what I had in mind was never what was intended for me.
Now I don't, I think it have me hope, and no matter how much I tried I never got there. That is possibly for the good anyhow. But now I try not to visualise anything because I am now fearful that if I can visualise it then it will by default not happen.
Yes - if you visualise something & give it power then you tend to be more open & accepting when everything lines up & your visualisation "comes true". I am also a big believer that if it doesn't happen either the way you had hoped or at all then that is because the time is not right or it is not part of the plan. Sometimes we have to wait for things to happen & if we force the situation then we risk not fully appreciating it or it not turning out the way we hoped.
And here's a thought-provoking little clip that adds, I think, to this conversation:
The rice experiment

I don't I'm more proactive in that I don't think some things happen unless you put in the effort and work towards it sometimes were blessed and things do happen and sometimes crap happens and they don't I believe In God and that he helps us with things and guides us and I believe there is a place for positive confession and thinking and that negative confession and thinking can hinder things
And also think that Gods timing comes into play too it took us a year to get preg with ds and as anxious as I was for it to happen it was not Gods timing now he could have made it happen earlier had I nagged enough but in waiting I went through a journey and also deepens my relationship with him and having my son at the time that I did was a huge blessing and many good things that wouldn't have had I had him earlier
have you read "The Secret" HotI? my sister is a big believer in the Law of Attraction and swears that it was the reason behind them getting to build their forever home. (vision board, ask, believe, receive etc)I'm a bit sceptical but having said that, I do think that our thoughts can manifest physical things occurring (mind over matter etc) I guess as with believing in God, praying etc it comes down your faith and belief systems![]()
I have the opposite problem too ( I send the energy out for something and the complete opposite happens) so I turn that around and send out the opposite of what I really want, and I get it ITMS. That worked so well for a few years that I kind of got slack and forgot and started wanting what I wanted again and then things started to go really badly, so I went back to my opposite thinking and starting receiving again. Weird, but it works for me.
I also did do a vision board once, (putting the things I did want on there) a few things did work, but they were kind of vague, I had a picture of a property with horses, and eventually we moved to a property and agisted horses there, but they weren't mine, they were someone elses (they looked exactly like the horses in my picture though) The only thing that we did actually receive was a new car (well new to us lol) but the weird thing was I couldn't find a picture of what I wanted, so I left a big empty space on my vision board that was for my car, so no picture, just an empty space that I knew was for the car- and that's the only thing that truly 100% manifested.
I have definately had more than a few moments where I have said in my head "right this is going to happen" and it does. But also many times when it doesn't or when its slightly off. I am not a huge gambler, but when I say I am going to win I usually do, right before we moved i went into the pub knowing I was going to win something, so I put on a $3 mystery bet, while i waited for the race i went into the pokies (coz i cant watch the race or i loose) and out my $1 change and bet the whole thing on one spin- and got the feature and won $20, didn't win the race though lol and I wasn't planning on putting the $1 in at all, but I knew I was going to win something. (wish it had been more though lol)
I am skeptical of the rice experiment - look at the amount of water in the beakers. The positive beaker had more water, the other two dried out and rotted.
To answer the question, no I really don't believe that visualising can make anything happen, not by mystical powers of the universe at least. It would however provide focus towards a goal and a person may then make decisions that would lead to achieving said goal. For example, wanting to own a house probably won't happen just by imagining it but if you are focused towards it, set a good budget and stick to it then it is more likely to happen - not by the visualisation but by the work that went into it.
I believe in it, I think on a practical level humans are highly visual and we work best when we can visualise something, including visualising the steps needed to achieve it. Visualisation breaks things down, makes them easier to comprehend and actualise. I think that practical side helps the spiritual, because the power of the mind and self-belief (or lack thereof) is so strong, especially on a collective level. We subconsciously act according to what we believe is or isn't possible and change our decisions, levels of motivation/proactivity, and general behaviours accordingly.
