    My 2nd Miscarriage

Hi everyone this is my first time posting something on BB, so here i go.
Im 25 and married, i have had 2 miscarriage. My first one was in May 09 i was 7 weeks pregnant it was such an amazing feeling knowing that something so tiny inside you is growing and you are its mother. we were so happy. then one day i had a little bleed and went to the doctors but everything was okay, he told me just to rest and see how it goes. a week later we went back to check everything was fine, but it wasnt he had a look and there was no heart beat. he told us we should get a D&C done so we did. it was so scary going to the hospital knowing theres something still inside you but its not alive i guess. i didnt want to let go but i know i had to.
we got pregnant pretty fast the second time and we decided to see a gyno make sure we do everything right, i thought it was going to be okay. everyone tells you this time i have a feeling or the odds say you will be fine.
so i was about 6 weeks pregnany and i had another bleed went straight to the doctors and she put me on these tablets Progesterone i had to take one a day. i was so sick and tired with these tablets. but my levels were high everything felt fine.
we went back two weeks later to have a scan and again there was no heart beat, i couldnt believe it i thought no way this cant be happening. i looked over at my husband and you should of seen his face my god he was so guttered. i felt so guilty i know its not my fault but i just thought i had done everything right.he also wanted this so bad.
i went and got a D&C done this time it was abit easier at least you know what is going to happen.
Its now been a couple of months and i want to try again , but im also really scared its going to happen again. what am i going to do if it does?
i feel depressed alot of the time and i think about what if my babies made it. i would be a mum.
the doctors say that after your 3rd miscarriage they will do tests to see what is happening and hopefully figure out what is going on.
is there anything i can do now before i try and get pregnant again, so maybe i can have a healthy pregnancy or is there any tests i should know about. anything?
i just really want to know everything before i do this again. i want to give everything i have to make this work.
thanks for lisening i have not been able to talk to anyone about this until now.

I'm sorry that I don't have any advice for you either, and I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your two angels. It took me nearly a year and a half before I was ready to try again after our loss, because I was just so scared of it happening again, so I understand you being scared to try.

Have you had a good talk with your GP or Ob about your fears? Asked their advice if there is anything they recommend? I hope and pray that you hold a bubba in your arms soon

Hi there, I'm really sorry for your loss.

Speak to a naturopath, ask if vitex would be good for you. It helped me after 6 miscarriages.

im sorry to hear about all your losses, im actually here to tell you about a genetic problem in my family that my aunty has and we all had to get tested
my aunty had a still born at 34 weeks and has many misscarriages alot, they usually wont test your blood for these problems unles its asked for or if you already know about it.

the gentic prob is called THROMBOPHILIA, and FACTOR 5 LAIDEN. factor 5 ladien is one to def cause misscariage, ppl dont usuauly get tested for it, unless asked or if in family, i would get tested for sure

please if you ahvent been tested please ask ur drs as this can play a big part in losing babies and if you have it they can help you have a succesful pregnancy as my aunt now has a healthy 7yr old due to getting testing for these things and them helping her our with medication once she gets pregnant

Hun, I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss

I too have had 2 miscarriages - in between two healthy pregnancies.

Unfortunately tests generally aren't offered until you have lost 3 as you still have a very high chance of having a third healthy pregnancy.

There are many ladies here on BB who have lost 2 or more pregnancies, I can think of at least 2 ladies who have lost their first two but went on to have a beautiful baby with the third pregnancy.

So please don't give up hope just yet

    My Angels

I understand your fear about tcc and future pregnancies. It is so scary.

I am there, tcc after recurrent miscarriage. All I can say is, take it one day at a time. You need to do whatever makes you feel as in control as you can be during your tcc and pregnancy, but I know you understand all to well, that there is so much you don't have control over. I suppose, what I am saying is focus on what you can control, take it one day at a time and try not to worry about what you can't control. As hard as it is, I try to enjoy my pregnancies, because it might be all I have of my babies, and I want those memories and times to be as much as I can make it. Surround yourself with gos support and get to a counselor or support group.

Also, research as much as you can about miscarriage and the causes. I know its hard but knowledge can help It's hard but what it gives you is something to ask your Dr about, and if it doesn't apply to you at least the Dr can explain why. I recommend that you talk to your Dr about investigations, although some of them can be expensive, so talk about that too with the Dr.

    Go gently sweet one.

I understand how you feel. I'm currently waiting for my body to recover before we can even think about ttcing again. And while I desperately want to have children, I am petrified of going through losing yet another. Did they test the pregnancy tissues after either of your d&c's?

But you have to remember - while there are things you can do to improve your future bubs chances, you can't change what is meant to be.

You could have a google for diseases that can interfere with pregnancy - diabetes, thyroid conditions (easy to test for - blood test), etc.

And relax. I know it's hard!
