05 August 2006 - 25 June 2007 RIP little Angel

Sunday was my DD birthday my DW and I decided that we’d have a little celebration and invite some friends over for an afternoon tea. We had about 30 people around including all the kids.
My DW made some awesome invitations with her scrap booking skills, she really put a lot of effort in, I think it has helped her heaps with her grieving. She also made a great cake in the shape of a dummy and put some of my DD’s little toys around it. We lit my DD’s special candle, that some of my old work mates got for us; it has her name on it with a little poem. Our other two children wanted to sing happy birthday to their sister, so we all did this and then they blew out her candle. We released about 40 helium balloons with a little photo attached to each one and everyone wrote a little message on the back. We bought a photo frame that held three photos and got everyone that came to write a little message around it on the mat board. We watched a little of the video from my DD’s birth and stood around and ate and had a little drink in memory of my beautiful DD.

We had a really good day and it was great to have so many friends around us at this hard time. My DW enjoyed the day and when we finally got to bed she laid there in my arms and had a big cry, talking to each other about how much we missed her and what a wonderful daughter she was/is. We know that she is up in heaven waiting for us and we give thanks to God for looking after her for us. If only we could have some understanding.

My DW is doing really well and I have told her so. For the amount of stress she has had she is going awesome and I’m very proud of her. The pregnancy is going well and we know that we are having a little boy due early December. My DW has mixed feelings about our new little bundle and isn’t really sure how to feel, but I know that we will both love him as much as we love all our children.
