Hi hj & sconeonamission. Did you get a school ranking, or in QLD is the OP? You may be able to use that and you just go through the tertiary entrance sites (such as QTAC.. sorry don't know about any other states!). Other than that you can do a STAT test that are run by the tertiary entrance sites.

You could do EN at tafe, but that really is a long way around. The best thing about uni, is that if you don't like it, you don't have to go on. I tried my hand at business and tourism before I realised Iwould love to be a midwife. I applied to do direct entry mid, but didn't get in as it is so competitive, my second choice was nursing, to which I got in. I was scared of nursing, I didn't really want to do it, but at that point to get to mid may have been my only option. I surprised myself by absolutely loving it. Then I did a crazy thing by transferring to UQ, but will continue on now as I am one year down on coming out with dual qualification. Enough from me blah blah
