Another teaching student here - B. Teaching (primary and secondary) - this year is my third out of four part time, but my first year as a single parent. I do two subjects a semester and have one three week placement at a high school this year.

Shannon, my first degree was accounting, almost 20 years ago now - I don't know how I stuck with it for three years, let alone over 8 years ! well done.

Well I guess I can legitimately join this thread now! I just got my offer to enrol in BPsych at Curtin Uni, my first preference!

I looked the offer up at midnight last night, can you tell I'm keen? Then I went on to have nightmares about stuffing up at uni all night!

I'll be working full-time, studying part-time, doing all available external modules (4 of them) distance ed in the first couple of years to start with, and then the plan is to take long service leave to tackle 4 units as a full time student for one semester, then when I return to work, to access study leave to finish my course part-time on campus.

    That's the plan anyway!

This my second year. I did a .75 load last year and I'm starting off with a .75 on campus load and .25 external this semester. Then next semester I have a full time on campus load with a 4 week placement *eeek*

Well looks like I will be doing Masters of Health and Human Services Management this year.

I was going to defer but the Uni screwed up the paper work, it actually turned out for the best though so all signs point towards studying.

It's part time and all external so I am easing myself back in slowly, it's been 6 years since I've done any study and now I feel old lol

It starts for me as well. I have been checking everyday because the tutor told me when enrolled that they might post the online coursework a little early for external students, and today, viola, there it was. So I officially start study as of Monday - Wed nights after work and Sat mornings at the uni library and Monday, Tues and Friday nights studying at home when Charlie goes to bed.

I also got my textbook and read the first few pages and it all seems like greek to me! Don't know how I'm going to go!

I have received my one external learning packet so I can start on that any time. Just need to get the text book for it. The rest are on campus - so the craziness is about to start again....

Good luck Sushee you're gonna be great

Lea I'm going to look to you for inspiration when the going gets tough, hun! I completely understand feeling sad about Em going to childcare more. I look at C and think of how much less he sees of me lately and feel like my heart is breaking. But I admire your tenacity and I hope I have half your strength to see this through.

I have almost all of my textbooks. Just one more to get and thats it. I'll see if I can go out on monday and get it. Very exciting. I've been reading through all my online stuff and its very interesting. At the moment I am looking at my biology subject and its all reminding me of year 10 science!

Shazz - I got lost with the online enrolement as well, had to get DP to do it for me!

How expensive are text books!!! I am doing only one unit and my two books are close to $200, while DP is doing 4 units off campus and his are just over $400. Tell you what, after we are finished we better be on darn good money LMAO

Oh yeah, books are sooo expensive, but I've managed to buy all of mine second hand off ebay and other places too. I also got a few from a website called www.textbookexchange.com.au. I managed to get some in excellent condition for less than half the brand new price!

I was lucky and got my textbook as a package through my MIL. One massive book, one study guide and a CD ROM is all I need for this semester's unit. The rest of my resources are apparently fully online so I won't need the library, but I intend to utilise it anyway mainly for quite study time.
