Thanks ladies.

We have been doing the diet for 4 weeks now and are seeing some improvements. DS is much more co-operative and less argumentative than before. Although he hasn't been diagnosed I do feel that he has ODD - Oppositional Defiant Disorder. We have made a few mistakes with some ingredients so have had a couple of setbacks but all in all our house is definitely a much calmer place. The school holidays have just started so I've decided we will continue on the diet for the duration and then start challenges providing everything is going well once school goes back. The reason being is because I suspect that DS may have had some other foods at school.

The book has become my bible!! Everytime I read it I find something new. It is a bit of a process and I have had some people tell me that they have heard about it but wouldn't attempt it because they feel it would just be too hard. I don't think it is that difficult and after all it is so worth it!

I suppose we were already half way there though because we have avoided a lot of the preservatives and additives for some time now but I am thinking that DS might be intolerant to salicylates or amines, or both! Time will tell though. It will be great to be able to pinpoint the causes to some extent.
