Where did you buy your DSLR from?

I just got a new camera yesterday and we found it cheapest at cameras direct.
Just be aware that if you do buy from overseas that means that you don't get the standard Nikon/Cannon warranty. Usually you will get one through wherever you bought it from though.

I bought a Canon 60D body for $980 (RRP $1600) and my 17-55mm f/2.8 Lens for $989 (RRP $1500). Both came brand new, in the box, and absolutely PERFECT.

Mine came from Hong Kong and with the standard Canon Warranty.

Oh and I didn't run into any problems with customs taxes. Both items came within a week!

We got ours online from a reputable store in Sydney. We got the 7D for less than the 60D was going for in stores. I'll ask hubby what the store was called.

I was going to just go with a Canon 1000D to start out with but now I am thinking maybe I should stretch the budget a bit further and get the 550D. I wish I could make up my mind *sigh*

Don't know if it is helpful to you at all but I saw the Canon 1000D with twin lens kit in the **** Smith catalogue for $693. No idea if that is a good price for it or not because I use Nikon but thought I would let you know
