Baby girl names - help!

i love Sybella and with the Y looks nicer to me.
also love stella as well.
other suggestions i have: Samara, Sabine, Sabrina, Imogen, which is my dd's name so i'm biased!

Joski - I think that would probably work better for a boy but the outcome wouldn't be as girly - good idea though.

If you like the 'ella' what about Gabriella? Not common, but not unusual. You can call her Briella, Gabi, Brie, Ella.

Sybella is lovely. Definitely with a 'y'. I can't imagine it not being well received?!

I'm going to go for the Sibella. I just know in our families the nonni's wouldn't get the y!

Also to me sybella looks similar to syllable! Sorry!! I think it's a very pretty name

I know a Sibellla and at first I must admit I wasn't into it but the more you say it the more you like it it's one of those growing on you names. I really love the name now

I worked with a gorgeous girl called Stella, well she was about 35- beautiful, calm and just lovely so I really love that name.

How could anyone want to intervene over the name Atticus?! It is one of my favourite boy names. Shame DH never felt the same way.

Argh - I was just getting used to Sybella again and my SIL just told my husband she isn't a fan of it (she is nice so wasn't saying it to be difficult). I told her to look up names that suit the boys' names and get back to me. I think she is struggling so far. It's not an easy job!

I usually have the attitude of "I don't care what anyone else thinks" but I really want her name to be received well, especially since she is a girl. I think I'm over thinking it all. Can't help it.

Your SIL might not like the name now but perhaps when baby is born Sybella could really suit her?! I still love the name

I am sure my parents were questioned over the name they gave me. Downsides are it is difficult to pronounce and I am often mistaken for a boy on paper, or have my first and last names switched as my married last name is a more common female first name. I didn't like my name when I was younger for those reasons. The upside, I was the only one at school, and still at work with my name. I often get compliments.

Who cares what other people say, as long as you like it. My only advice is to pick a name that people won't completely mangle when they see it written. And won't confuse your girl with a boy.

I think it's going to be Sybella/Sibella.

We actually first saw the name from that reality tv show Homemade. She was a Judge on the show and is an interior designer, a celebrity now.

Her name is Sibella Court. Just trying to decide on the 'y' or 'i' now. Ideas/opinions?
