That is just mean to the child. I would have assumed it was Leah, with an odd spelling

thats exactly what I did, it was followed by a 3min lecture on how to say the name, and ranting about how no-one ever gets it right. Oh i wonder why???

I work in mid and some of the names/spellings are just down right wrong. You wonder if the parents actually sit back and consider the impact on their childs life?

Maybe you need to tell them it's actually a hyphen so her name should be lehyphena.

Utterly ridiculous!! Spell it Ledasha for goodness sake, it looks and sounds nice. Le-ah is just beyond silly.

Well it had to happen sooner or later! Someone has finally taken an already ****ed up name and ****ed it up even more by getting creative with the spelling LOL

    Re: Bad Bad name

Having such an unusual name is just unfair to the child

I know a Ma' lu (no space) & never understood the need for the apostrophe...

One that's annoying me lately is DS's besty.. Kal lan, pronounced Kaylen. It's a basic English thing that I can't quite get my head around.
And Djago (Jaygo)... I see Diego...

I too like unusual names & spellings, as long as they make sense & aren't over the top. DD1 is Jazmyne. All my others have easily spelt, common names, but I'm always questioned on the spelling of them all.
DD3 is Summer, but mum suggested a different spelling for her. I tried them & they all looked like I can't spell Somer, Summa, Summah... None of them worked. But try the variations for DD2, Brianna... OMG. Breeannah is waaay over the top for me!

Please tell me you replied by saying that if she didnt want people to get her daughters name wrong then she shouldnt have given her such a stupid spelling for her name!
