I have a distant family member (mum's cousin's grandson, something like that) named Harley, whose father is named David. So he's Harley, David's son
That's a cool play on words!

I had seen that before and always pronounced it in my head as "hey-dee".

I know a Heidi (hi dee) & a Haydee. Pronounced as you'd expect. Why do people insist on messing with spelling rules?

Yep, Heidi is pronounced high-dee. Think Heidi Klum.

There's a girl on Toddlers and Tiaras called Rainbow Dash.
You mean it's not "Rainbow-" ?

    I know of a Maori guy named "W i l l i a m." He usually goes by "W i l l y".

Which would be ok, except his surname is "W o k k a".

(Not that I think a grown man should be called w illy, but that's a matter of opinion)

Honestly, it took me a few moments to work out how to pronounce it.

My uncle in law is Cookie - but his surname is Cook (as opposed to being named after baked goods, or the dude in A Country Practice".

    Could it be that?

    If not
