Maybe you need to tell them it's actually a hyphen so her name should be lehyphena.

Don't they understand how the English language works?

It doesn't make sent to pronounce it like that at all - geez these kind of names actually give me a headache to think about lol.

I've read in an article that someone named their child 'Abcde' pronounced ab-sed-y.

My name is Ashleigh and I've had enough trouble with people spelling my name wrong lol

thats exactly what I did, it was followed by a 3min lecture on how to say the name, and ranting about how no-one ever gets it right. Oh i wonder why???
Please tell me you replied by saying that if she didnt want people to get her daughters name wrong then she shouldnt have given her such a stupid spelling for her name!

Really - aside from the fact that it looks like text speak and people will make assumptions just from that about the child - CRATE - what sort of name is Crate? Is there a family preference for storage containers when naming their children? Is there a little Zplkbggi on the cards perhaps?

I seem to offend people every time one of these threads comes up and I state my opinion about choice of names, spelling, the relationship to the socio-economic status of the family and future criminality of the weirdly named children....so I won't say a thing, even though studies have proven crap like this is damaging......

Right, I can't find the longer bad name thread that I was looking for so I'm going to revive this one instead with a name I just came across...

Tru' Jordan Lei'Xan. Lei'Xan is pronounced LeShawn.
