My cousin changed her childs name at 10 weeks (i think) she added a first name in front of the other. Neva (means snow in a language ICR). you can do what ever you want, you are the super mummy!

Are you kiding you have made me put Evangeline on the list for girls! When I fall pg
What other name did you have? Just curious??

I have never met your daughter before but to be honest we can never tell what name will suite our kiddies! It may suite them now but not when they grow and visa versa.
All you need to know is its one of the most beautiful names I have heard in a long time and there isn't 100 of them in the same room
I cant say much else as I said I've never met your princess. But the name is beautiful

    Hi,
My dh got to choose our boy's name and I never liked it- least of all because it rhymes with his last name

I have shortened it so effectively that most people are suprised when I tell them the lengthened version of it.

And, like Mel said, they do grown into them.

BTW,I think the name Evangeline is beautiful

Evangeline is BEAUTIFUL. Its normal to have slight reservations, it happens as you get to know them, as you are now.

I agree, Evangeline is a beautiful name.

And like others have said, sometimes you just need a bit of time for it to 'feel' right. I was the same with my DS, both names would have suited him but now I know we chose the right one.

I l ove Evangeline! It's beautiful, and I haven't heard it around much!

I have the opposite problem. When ds grows up and people shorten his name, it will be Jenny or Jen. We call him Jens, but now I worry that the other kids will make fun of him.

It is a BEAUTIFUL name and I am SO picky when it comes to names.
My cousin had the same doubts with both of her little ones. I don't think many babies actually do 'suit' the names they've been given until they start to develop a personality and people get used to calling them by their name.
I would keep it if I were you. My Grandmother HATED the name my parents gave me when I was born but slowly fell in love with it.
Give it time - good luck.
