If you like it go for it! Even if you use a full name and then call your child by a nickname, like we do with Iz, we get "Oh is it Isabelle or Isabella?"! DH's brother is called Ben, it was meant to be Benjamin, (hence one of James' middle names) but my IL's forgot to put the full name on the birth certificate! His mum still calls him Benjamin at times but most people call him Ben. Wow Im rambling but I guess what Im getting at is that if you like it use it, and no matter what there are always those silly questions from silly people about your choice of name!
