    I think that is a good idea amysarah. ITs just so hard.

    What does everyone think of Karolinka?

    I wouldnt want her to be called carol/karoline, i'd hope her nick name would be Linka... / Linkee

    Yeah I know a chick called Karoline (often called Karolinka) and she is cool. The chick I know called Anika... well, not so much.

    And I do believe there is something in a name.......

    But DD doesnt like Karolinka grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

    Ok for what it worth here are my tips when picking a name ( or making one up as we did )

    Spell the name the way you want it to sound...

    It took BHL 3 weeks to get DD2 name right every time he went to say it he would have to ask me how to say it again... But now it just rolls of the tounge...

    Here is my sisters name I havent heard anyone else with this name in 27 years...


    It Mareesa ( Maree - Sa ) Or my other sister is

    Chandelle ( sh on dell )

    My name is Natalia so if you went for that you child will get Natalie or Nataliea

    My Dp's name is Nikki - spelt that way. Nikita certainly is a boys name, as is Asher, Paris and Marion!
    You can use them anyway you want I spose.

    So there you go - you have all heard of a Nikki that is a boy!

    Have you thought about spelling it Ahneeka??

    We had Shaneeka/ Shanika on our list too...

    We had more dramas with Girls names then boys names... DP and i just couldnt agree...

    Tali- how do you pronounce your DD's name??? Is it pronounced how it looks???

    DD likes Anastazja and Aysha. So cute - the other day she said "but if we call her that mummy everyone will just call her Asia".

    I am really thrown off using almost any form of Anika now, because when we told the ckick with that name that we were using it, she says "oh, ok, thats a bit weird"... as though we were naming the baby after her. Not likely my dear!

    Tali- how do you pronounce Mayleaka?

    I like Karolina/Karolinka I knew a Helinka when I was growing up, I think she reverted to the adult version of her name in high school.

    that is so very pretty tali, I like it very much!

    DH came up with two names - Domenica and Sylvia....... two names I would never have gone for!

    Oh its making me so sad I really love Anika but just... oh.... I hated the vibes from the chick we know, thinking it was after her..... really put me off.

    She says Aneeeka anyway

    EDIT - she isnt a bad chick or anything, dont get me wrong, it was just a vibe IYKWIM

    My sister's name is Karolina - she was Karolinka as a child (I suppose it was more a term of endearment) but on her birth certificate she is Karolina - however in real life she is known as Karoline - we have a Polish background also.

    Have you googled Polish Girl names?? - I personally love Zosia

    We are having a polish name for this baby but i have adjusted it so that people will say it the way I want it pronounced - it's not common in poland but just came across it by chance and DH was the one to choose it - not me

    BTW - my sister's nn was Kika and still is to this day.

    My grannies name was Anastazja - however I feel that people will always shorten this name to Anna - it was a contender as a middle name but the shorten version would just P me off

    ooohhh - I have just thought of one - Krysta.

    hope DH like it... has anyoine known and krystas? Were they cool, relaxed kinda chicks? I knew one and that's exactly what she was like.......
