Opinions Please??: Mya or Milla...

Ok, so I'm officially hitting the baby name forums for opinions on 2 girl names we like so far...

originally we liked Milla.
Strong and pretty I think... but I'm wondering if it's now becoming too popular. I know this can happen over time with any name, but we're trying to pick something a little different without being weird..

DH really likes Mya... originally i didn't but it's growing on me
Pronunciation would be 'My-yuh'.... i've seen other spellings like Maia but to me that is 'May-yah' as is Maya... and I wouldn't want her to have to correct people on her name her whole life!

what do you think of the two names and spellings? Which do you prefer??

middle name at this stage is optional... but i do like Ruby. Wouldn't use as a first name due to popularity but as a middle name i like it, it's a tad alternative/retro... well, to me it is, anyway

i would love your opinions and suggestions... girl's names are so hard!!

I have actually never heard the name Milla before, so I definatley don't think that it is too popular.

I know a little girl who is Maia (pronounced May-a), so if you wanted it pronounced like Myer, I would probably go Mya or Myer.

I love Milla too but didn't think it was that common. I thought Mya would have been more common that Milla. There are a bazillion Mia's at the moment and I know of a Maia that always gets called Mia. Mila was on my girls name list last year.

Girls names are hard. I always thought naming bub was the easiest part but turned out to be a huge stress when DH is involved.

I have never heard Milla and LOVE it! Mya is very common I've heard it heaps! so if you are wanting one or the other than Milla is the less common for sure

I too was going to suggest combining the two to make Myla. I absolutely love the name Milla Rubi.

DH never used to like it but now he does. However after being on BB I've come to know Milla Ruby Designs so have put the name on backburner.

LOVE milla. Maya is SO popular at the moment!! In many different spellings! But it's still a gorgeous name. But my vote is definitely milla
