Our last name is one Syllable.

Cass72, me too!! I see a beautiful forrest covered in snow. Love it.

We are really struggling with middle names too.
Husband wanted Daphne (his grandmother) and I just can't process Daphne. Not to mention I don't like his side of the family so don't really want my daughter to be named after any of them. (My son already has my husband's brother's name in his middle name)

I was just at the shops and thought about "Grace" as a middle name. What about that? Winter Grace (the meaning of my first name is Grace)

Love the name Daphne, but can understand the "why" of not wanting to use it. Although Daphne Grace does sound nice....then again, so does Winter Grace and Winter Daphne Grace.....Winter Rose? Winter Belle?

    In which order?

I think you could at least consider daphne if its something important to him. After all its his child too and his family. But anyways. I like piper winter. Or winter grace. Winter daphne grace is nice too. Probably like winter grace more. :-).

I think Winter Grace (your surname) is a perfect fit, really, N - it's gorgeous.

I prefer Winter to Piper. and I don't think the two 'er' sounds work together.
But like others have said they are not often said together.
I like the bargaining chip too - C has DH family name already and Grace is meaningful to you, so why not?

Good luck, I hope this little girl makes her arrival soon, I will be stalking for more of your gorgeous and creative pics

    In which order?

You could always do piper winter-grace, I think that works much better than just piper winter.

Oh no! Winter Grace was my favourite!

What meanings do your son's names have? Does he have a family name for a middle name?

Our son has both our brothers first names as his middle names.

I think I will just buy some time....see how he goes. She might be born and look totally like "Winter Grace"

In that case I think Daphne Grace may be a good middle name compromise? Or how about Laurel instead of Daphne? Then both names would be adaptations of the originals.

Then the question is Piper or Winter...?
