    I don't fancy it but it's not one of those names that make you wonder if the parents were on drugs or the baby was conceived between stays in gaol.

    I like it. But I'm afraid to say its not a German name. It's origins are German ("Kiefer" being a pine tree or your jaw), but never used as a name in Germany. It is a very popular name in America, though! Sorry if I ruined it.
