    Co sleeping

Well, my babe is 6.5months old. He was sleeping in a bassinet next to my bed until he started rolling over, to which i moved his cot into my room. For a little while i was having success in his sleeping in the cot. Then gradually he spent mornings from about 3am-7am in bed with me, and now it's usually 12am-7am, i know my mattress is softer than his and my bed probably smells like me too, he is sleeping on my bed (surrounded by pillows of course)at the moment (without me in it ) and has done so for the past 4 hours which is great compared to his 2 hours he'd sleep in his cot! any ideas on what to do??
I don't like co sleeping because I don't sleep properly, I half sleep because im subconsciously worrying ill roll onto him or he'll wiggle under my pillow. He likes to pull my pillow over his head while he sleeps (as i do myself) but it scares the wits out of me. and i cant roll over without waking him...help?

Hi LilBelle, I'm probably not much help as I haven't co-slept before, but have you tried putting him in his cot with an item of your clothing so that he can smell you? I have heard of other people doing this with success. Hopefully someone else will come and give you some more advise!

    Best of luck.

Hi there, my friend bought a little bed you can put in the middle of your bed specially made for babies and co sleeping. So there is no way u can roll on the baby.. She found this worked really well. She bought this from a baby shop.

You can also get little cot-type thingoes that have three sides, that you put right next to your bed. That way, you can't roll onto him, he can't roll off the bed, but you can give him cuddles and he knows you're there. That could be a good option for you.

I have a "my Little Bed" that holds them in place it's mostly for newborns though I have it in his cot instead of a bassinette because it was cheaper lol. Can have it in our bed too, if you don't want him in there at all though I've heard putting a shirt you've been wearing under them flattened out and a pillow of yours across their bottom and legs helps because it feels like you are gently holding them.

Other than that maybe a wool underlay between the cot and sheet under the matress protector may make it softer if that is the problem but may not be too great coming into summer

    Sorry cant be more help

I tried the item of clothing and a soft blanket underneath. And im not sure that bed thing will be suitable for 6.5mnth old crawling/rolling babe? but it sounds like a good idea

I'm not sure how it would go with a 6month old, Ryan's already starting to look a bit big for it. I've seen things you can get that are pretty much like a box lol, has a matress in it and the sides to stop parents squishing bubbies, although they are probably for wee bubbers too. Have you tried going to a big baby store if you have one near by? Ask them what they think and they may be able to advise something for you. I love the My Little Bed because you can fold it up and wear it as a handbag pretty much so I can put it on the pram when I go to peoples places and if he gets sleepy I can lay it out on their bed or couch and know he won't roll off anywhere
