    Dummies

Now I pretty much know the answer to this question but wanted to see what other people's experiences are.
DS is nearly 11 weeks old and is terrible at sleeping in the day, I am rocking him to sleep and putting him down and he only sleeps for maybe 5-10 mins before waking up, I know this could because of the rocking and we are working on that- BUT everytime he wakes up he has spat his dummy out and I am thinking that it is the dummy spitting that is causing him to wake so frequently.
Has anyone else experienced this in a baby this young?
I am going to go without the dummy this weekend and see if it makes a difference.

My 12 wk old spits the dummy out when she doesn't want it anymore or she is asleep. I tend to think at this age they hang on to it when they want it in there? Otherwise I wouldn't think that is waking him up. My DD sleeps like that sometimes but the episodes are getting further apart and has made great positive sleep changes from week 11 to 12.

    Hi Ali

My bubs was exactly the same at that age and still is. There was a point there when we were going into him every couple of minutes to put the dummy back in as he was waking when it fell out. For us we have lessened it by going to a different style of dummy. But honestly if your baby can be taught to get along without one that would be perfect. This is a battle I am not prepared to face as yet.

    Good luck.

I haven't had this happen to either of my girls but maybe it could be early teething?

Jen it is funny you say that because I can actually already see all his teeth in his top gums, they still quite high but it could be- I hope not, not ready for teething hell again, my DD has only just finished her last round of teething!

I've got a feeling it is then. Sorry. I no what it is like with the teething, who invented teeth hey .

My Dd#1 is getting her last two molars right at the back and my DD#2 has just got her first bottom two then her top two and now 4 others, over it completely!!!!Oh well it doesn't last forever i spose.

I do hope it works out in the end for you.

    Jen
