Hi taurean.: we have losec too, will try Zantac and then losec like you said thankyou
Found losec a bit tricky with the little balls. Bub vomited them up & they were hard to syringe.
Oh the poor thing. At least you are on the right track now. We found Zantac to work fine but we were on to it pretty fast so we only had to treat the effects not the cause. I know in severe ongoing cases the two can actually be used in conjunction. It will take at least a week to see dramatic improvement, but within the next day or so it should start to calm down. You can still use small amounts of mylanta before a feed to coat the esophagus to reduce discomfort if she is fussing badly. You may also find that she may stay fussy for some time, even though its no longer painful, its quite traumatic and they tend to not forget easily that it hurt once.
DD1 had to have a catheter inserted to get a urinalysis as well when she was in hospital dehydrated and it is horrible, she screamed, and it was only a couple of hours after them putting in a NGT which failed the first time and they had to redo it, so I can completely understand that You may find that for a few days she screams getting her nappy changed it was pretty traumatic for DD1, I hope it isn't the same for your DD.
I hope the Zantac works and you see improvement quickly, if not it would be worth getting the Losec through a compund chemist, sometimes the cost is worth it as DD happily takes it and doesn't vomit it back up xxoo
