Jodie, I found our BabyBjorn to be really great for when River was a newborn, he was light and he loved to snuggle in with his head on my chest. He hated being held in the cradle position, so a sling was out!

Now that he's heavier, I have a Mei Tai from BearHugBaby and it's really really comfy - and I can wear him on my front or back so my hands are free!

Other options for a newborn might be a wrap (like the Hugabub) or a pouch?

Does anyone you know have something you might be able to try out when your bub comes? Or are you wanting to be all organised before that.
The good thing about Baby Bjorns is that they have pretty good resale value, so if you or your baby hates it, you can just sell it on.
