Smile thinking of changing dd's name to Nora the explora!!

had a suprise the other day when i got young Nora the explora(Paige 16mths) out of her cot only to find that she had scrapped quite an amount of varnish quite deeply of the top rail of her cot, I was really worried to start with thinking that she may have injested the varnish by DH tells me that he caught her scratching it with her fingernails as well.
Can't seem to break her of the habit she has now offically "trashed" her cot so much for keeping it looking nice for no2.
has anybody had a similar experience? or has any body made repairs to their cots to scratches?
any ideas on how to stop her doing anymore would also be appreciated.
aren't I glad I didn't by the $4000 cot I dreamed about when I first found out I was pgallie

I know you can get protectors for your cot rails and edges, to protect from bubs teeth marks.

My DD use to sink her teeth into the cot, but luckily it can not be seen unless you look really close to. You can feel it too.

I will search to see where I saw these protectors and can PM you the details if you wish?

When we brought our cot it came with these protectors on top of the rails so when she bites etc while standing she is just biting the protectors.

Ok for some reason I can only find them on a UK site (non toxic plastic protectors that push on to rail) and NZ has some material ones which velcro on.

I am sure I saw them for sale in Aus though............

I have seen the protectors in Babies Galore. I meant to buy some for our cot when I was pregnant with DD. A friends DS used to bite his cot so I thought I might get some incase DD does it. But yeh back to the point babies Galore has them. Well that was a year and a bit ago:P
