stringy how so?? do you think it could be worms???
My baby is a poo machine - she is fully breastfed - no solids. She does about 6-8 poos a day - usually just yellow mustard IYKWIM in various consistencies, but this morning when I changed her she had done a massive poo that had these long stringy bits in it (what is it?!!!!), she hasn't pooed again today (as at 6pm) - she has otherwise been a picture of health - playing laughing, snoozing etc. Has anyone else's bub done any similar weird poos? Should I be worrried?

if it mucousy she could be swallowing snot or phlegm (sp) esp if she has had a cold etc. Because they cant blow their noses it runs down the back of their throats and they swollow it. When my DD's arent well or have runny noses i always have stringy mucous in their poo's.......hmmm nice i know.
Yuk! worms!!! I don't know...I've never seen worms in poo before, excuse my ignorance but are are they alive? Her poo was otherwise a normal colour - what other symptoms accompany "worms" and how would she get it.
She doesn't have a cold or a runny nose either, so I guess that can be ruled out.
Worms!!! yuk! Yuk! yuk! How do I rule it (in) or out?
Hi Lilli
Worms are alive and you would probably be able to see them moving. They are usually thin long and a white or cream colour. They are caught from animals and other people/children.
Hey Lilly, could just be one of those poos... I have seen all sorts of textures and colours, LOL! I agree with Hoody, sometimes a bit of snot can make poo look bizarre...
She didn't poo for the rest of the day yesterday (as the stringy poo was a monster poo!). She did a normal (big) poo this morning with no stringy bits - if it is worms are they in every poo? Could it have been just a one-off weirdo poo?
It could have been a one-off.... my bubs used to get my hair wrapped around their fingers, which would then go in their mouths if I didn't spot it fast enough.... and then it would come out the other end in their nappies.... do you have blonde hair?
My vote would be for the once-off weirdo poo... And I'm sure you'll see many more to come!
If it was worms it would be in every poo
OK, well we have no animals or contact with animals and none of my family incl. nieces or nephews have animals or worms and the stringy bits are gone now - so maybe it was my hair (I'm not a blonde but it could have been my hair). OK, one-off weirdo poo! Thanks everyone!!
PS will be more aware of "worms" from now on!!!
Sweet dreams
Sorry could not resist
Alan.
Thanks Alan, dreams ok but strangely have turned off spaghetti!
LOL Lilli - I think even I will never eat vermacelli noodles with satay sauce after reading your thread![]()
