Smile Wiping a nose on a widly shaking head

    HI everyone

I've been struggling to wipe Daniel's nose. Whenever I even look like coming at him with a tissue he shakes his head like a crazy man. He sort of becomes a "snot sprinkler".

I've discovered the solution and thought I would like to share it, just in case anyone is experiencing the same thing with their 15 month and on babies. (Not guaranteed for anyone else's babies, but it's something).

I pretend to blow my nose in to the tissue first, by making a funny fart noise. Daniel has this massive grin on his face - I then say, "Do you want a go?" Of course he does!! I haven't had an issue since I started doing this.

I have now gradually turned it in to, "Can mummy please blow your nose?" and he now waits. I then screech so excitedly, "Thank you, Daniel!!" Of course he grins and is even willing to oblige again, just to get another thank you. He even says, "Ta, ta, ta!" While nodding his head agreeably. We then have a hug and a kiss.

For the first time ever, I think I've figured out "some" baby psychology. Of course, this may turn on its head next week - but I hope not.

    LP

Love the "snot sprinkler" description. DH makes DS laugh with his fake nose blowing, and I'll have to try your method now. Thanks!

My DS does this. He just turns the other way so what i do now is i have a tissue in each hand and when i come at him with one and he turns the othe way i put my other arm around the back of his head and get him that way. Then he'll look the other way i have a tissue in that hand too to wipe lol.

Great idea LP. I have the same problem with T so I will definitely give that one a go.
