I haven't been there myself but my sister works there. I'm quite gentle in my approach and I've always been happy with the advice she's given me when Moo's had sleep issues. Apparently they have podcats and videos on their website that might be worth a look in the meantime (if you haven't already). Sorry I can't be of more help, good luck
That is helpful thanks girls. I'll try and have a look at the pod casts when i have some quiet time.
I think we're at a point where i know it's not going to be easy to get her out of the sleep routine we have in place no matter what we try but i want to try something.
I did a day stay and found what I learnt really useful although I went when DD was around 7 mths old and I didn't implement what I learnt until she was around 9 mths just because I wasn't ready. They are fairly gentle but you comfort without picking up and go in and out quite a lot. I remember DD fell asleep for her day sleep without a sound and I was like WHAT...she didn't even give me a practise run I found the staff lovely, helpful and at the end of the day, if you don't like it you are at least armed with some ideas. Good luck hun, it is so tough. xoxox
I had a little success last night which is pretty exciting!! After watching to podcasts i tried a few things when DD woke and was able to resettle her twice Usually when i go in she gets herself so worked up if i try to do anything other than feed her so i'm really happy with last night. We've got a fair bit of work ahead of us, resettling is one thing, feeding to sleep is another but we'll get there. we may not even need the sleep school after all.
My main reason for asking is just to know that their approach was gentle and that people didn't have any stories of it being a traumatic experience. No negatives is a good thing for if we cross that path
