DD would love any rhyme at all, especially if it had actions, like I'm a little teapot. She was into Hi-5 and learning all the moves which I would have to do with her as well.

Here is one of my personal favourites. If DD is cranky with me, I sing this and she says "I know you trying to make me happy and smile" Only takes a minute or two and she starts singing it with me. Problem is, I can't stop thinking of the song for the rest of they day LOL!!

I just copied this from the abc kids website, I think the words were a little bit different when DD was little?

If all the world were paper

If all the world were paper,
What a strange world it would be
With paper clouds and paper sun and paper bird in paper tree
    Hey hey hey!
You'd stand and stare if there was nothing but paper everywhere
    Hey hey hey!

What would you do if everything was paper and so were you.

How would the paper houses stand
When the wind begins to blow?
How would you drive a paper car
and how would paper flowers grow?
    Hey hey hey!
You'd stand and stare if there was nothing but paper everywhere
    Hey hey hey!

What would you do if everything was paper and so were you.

i don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but i took my ds1 who is two to his first session of mini maestros this morning. if anyone else out there (all of us i am sure) has a littlie that loves to sing and dance then i highly recommend it. it was absolutely brilliant. my ds1 has been buzzing all morning from the songs and dances he has already learnt.

    hmmm.......my favourite is
    please open your umbrella.

    please open your umbrella,
    please open your umbrella,
    please open your umbrella,
and shield me from the rain

    The shower is nearly over,
    The shower is nearly over,
    The shower is nearly over,
    so shut it up again.

its very easy for small ones to remember

Here are 2 that I wrote myself. We sing in the bath and I keep running out of songs before the bath is over.

    The Little Mer-man

    Deep beneath the ocean
    Far beneath the sea
    lives a little merman
who's much like you and me
    He has ten little fingers
    and a little button nose,
but down where his feet should be
    there's fins instead of toes

    oh funny little merman
    swimming in the sea
    funny little merman
he's just like you and me
he has a bright red mouth to kiss
    and little shell like ears
and a mummy and a daddy
    to take away his fears

    oh funny little merman
    swimming in the sea
    funny little merman
he's much like you and me
he has two bright blue eyes to see
    and light brown wavey hair
he has two arms to hold you tight
and lots of love to share

    funny little merman
    swimming in the sea
    funny little merman
he's much like you and me
    he has ten little fingers
    and a little button nose
but down where his feet should be
    there's fins instead of toes.

    Little Black penguin

    Little back penguin
    sitting on a rock
    little black penguin
    started to hop
    he hop hopped left
    he hop hopped right
    he hopped all day
    and he hopped all night
