Anyone just KNOW when they'd go into labour?

    Hey guys,

I have this really strong feeling that bubby will come early..... don't know if I'm going to be right or not but my bump has totally dropped and I am HUGE for 34 weeks.

Did anyone else have these feelings and were you right about them?
I should note that today is my first day of maternity leave and I have way too much time on my hands now - hence thinking about this stuff!!

    Thanks

    Hey Sue

I thought my bub would come early, i left work at 34 weeks and was convinced she would be here within a week or so, nope still waiting

I have had lots of signs the whole time, baby dropped, she has been engaged for a while, pooing lots cramping, BH contractions , everything but still bubba is tucked away happy in my belly

I had the strongest feeling she would be early but she wasn't

Thats not saying u will be wrong, as ur bub may come , lets hope not for your sake as i have needed these weeks soooo bad to catch up on things and finish things and the most important REST---

As much as I hoped, no, lol.
After DD1 was 8 days late, I did know that DD2 would be late too. My EDD was late May, but I told everyone I was having a June baby.
With DS I had an early feeling. He did come early...a whole 2 days, lol.

I had that feeling with DS2 and he was 3 weeks early, didn't have it for DS3 and he was 1 weeks early. Having that feeling this time, but not sure if it is because I am just expecting him to be early after the last two or because I am getting anxious about it. Sorry haven't really helped at all, but hopefully your bub stays in there until at least 37 weeks.

Thanks guys, I'm not thinking she's coming in the next week or anything but I do have 37 weeks in my head for some reason.

I'm on maternity leave now, this baby has been a long time coming and I just can't quite believe that I'm here. I guess I'm just getting a bit stressy because I now have all this time on my hands..... I hate having too much time to think!!

As soon as I fell pregnant with DS I just had a feeling he'd be born on my dad's anniversary of his passing. I even said as much to my DH. Due date was set at 08/08/09 three days before the anniversary.
I had my DS on the 11/08/09, 21 years to the day of my dad passing away. What made it even more special was that we had decided to name DS after my father, before we were even sure he was a boy.
So you never know!! Good luck with it all.

I thought I would be late, but ended up in labour at 32 weeks, which was stopped. But after membranes ruptured at 33 weeks, I was induced and ended up birthing at 34 weeks.

I had a feeling both my first two would come early, but they were both overdue . DS1 was 8 days overdue, DS2 was 5 days overdue.

By the time I was pg with DD I knew not to trust that feeling . She was born around her EDD

Not an early or late feeling as such, but a kind of almost sarcastic 'I bet he comes on..."

My godfather died 6 days before Nate was born. I wasn't allowed to travel due to complications and I sent DH to the funeral 6hours away....In my heart I knew Nate would pick that day to come Surely enough my waters broke as the funeral ended....luckily my DH is a highway patrolman so the drive back was rather quick lol.

I was so sure that DS would arrive early..........like at about 37 weeks. He was due on 2nd June, and I often accidentally told people I was due in May, as I just had this really strong feeling we wouldn't make it until June. Well he didn't even make May, he came in April at 35 weeks on the dot! I wasn't quite prepared for it being that early.

Who knows? But seeing as you have all this time on your hands, maybe do a little reading on premmie bubs (because it's generally not something we look into that much until it happens to us), but all the while telling your bub to hang in there for another few weeks

Nope... they both started labour completely unexpected, I had no expectations which I think is the best way to be, with no anticipation or disappointments

I had a feeling right from the start that bub would come early (not by much, but I was so sure it would be before my EDD). I was so sure to the point where I was telling my parents to reschedule their air tickets from overseas! Bubs came just over two weeks early, 6 hours after DH went to fetch my mum at the airport!!

Sue, I hope you don't have to wait too long but and I know this is not what you asked for in your OP but..... I do recommend that you start giving yourself a very strict talking to about this coming early idea!! Otherwise you're going to have a VERY long 6 or even 8 weeks ahead of you.. I don't want you to feel frustrated and irritated for weeks on end... and be easily seduced into induction suggestions (or perhaps you'll be the one begging for it).

I always thought I'd be late ... I worked full time till 38 weeks and part time at home til 40 weeks.. and now a mere 8 days later I am going nuts and feel like I've been waiting forever!

So I say to you, sure, pack your bags, organise the nursery, then ... get yourself a serious set of hobbies! Exercise, charity, weekly classes of yoga and aquarobics etc, and get out of the house.

    All the best!

I knew I would have DD the weekend I had her because it was the only weekend I was extremely busy for the whole pregnancy. Fri night we were out, Sat morning up at 6am, undercoverwear party at a BB friends house, then a 21st that night, home at 1am, waters broke at 1.15am. Was supposed to go to the footy the next day & go out for dinner but had DD at 4.46pm on the Sunday

I actually have no expectations about this, just a feeling. And I certainly will NOT be asking to be induced. I don't mind sitting about waiting for this baby, she'll come when she is good and ready. My bags are packed, the nursery is nowhere near ready but it will be in the next few weeks.

All I was wondering was if anyone had a feeling and were they right.

Thanks again everyone for their input.

In my head I was preparred to have my baby 10days past my EDD (as that's when I knew the hospital would be pushing induction if I went over) but also in my head and heart I knew bub would be early. I kept this to myself however as I didn't want to be disappointed or have people asking have I had the baby yet. I thought she would come at 38weeks.
The day before she was born I was talking to my midwife friend and admitted I was sure it was going to happen very soon (that was 9pm) she arrived 11am the next day at 36+3. No warning until my waters broke at 6am, no bags packed, camera etc so she arrived even earlier then I expected.
With no1 I was expecting to go over due. I also wasn't preparred when I went into labour at 39weeks. I could have gone another few weeks not expecting it to happen lol
If no3 ever comes I will be expecting it to arrive early (due to the past 2) and will probably have it after I expect it.

in my heart i *knew* that DD would come at 38 weeks. but i did shove it to the back as i read so many books telling us first-timers that we all think we'll go early. but sure enough at 38+1 my waters broke in the afternoon and she arrived the following dawn.
