I haven't heard back from my friend yet but I just remembered that the m/w who was there when dd was born was actually a b/c midwife who happened to be in the birth suites that day. he was awesome. the most calming, unobtrusive presence I could have wished for. I wanted to delay cord clamping and didn't know whether there would be any opposition. he just told me it was fine - my body, my baby and they were just there to do what we wanted/needed. I nearly cried after she was born and I asked what the sex was and he turned dd to us and asked us to tel them because it was our baby. he was perfect (for me)
