mummato2 i am not sure what you meant was my third stage managed maybe i am having a blonde moment. They never did end up giving me a reason why, my placenta was GREEN and sent it away to be tested and i was not no news was good news and i never heard anything!! DD had a slight temp when born but was fine!!
Sorry love. A managed third stage is where once bubs head is out they give you an injection in the side or in your iv of synto to help the uterus contract a bit harder thus expelling the placenta quickly. Theory goes that it helps to cauterize off any bleeds caused by the placenta coming away.

A physiological third stage is when you allow the placenta to come away naturally without any intervention

There are pros and cons to both - so you might want to read up on both before your next.
