My bub was 12 days overdue and I tried everything to bring labour on! Nothing worked... Until...

My midwife asked me why I was holding back, what was I afraid of?
I thought it was a bit of a silly question at first (I thought I was soooo ready to have the baby!!) but then the tears suddenly flowed and the words tumbled out of my mouth that I was afraid to have my DD present at the birth (homebirth, she was going to be there)! It shocked me that in the back of my mind I was so worried about it yet I didn't realize til that moment! I had been all for having her there.
I had a talk with DD and asked her if she really wanted to be there and she admitted that she didn't want too (news to me!) but she thought that I really wanted her there so she didn't say anything! Poor sweetheart!
Long story short, we all decided DD wouldn't be there for the birth, I relaxed about the whole thing and finally went into labour!
What I'm trying to say is.. Is there anyone you can talk to about your fears? It really helps to get things out in the open. I think sometimes our bodies hold back for a reason.

Goodluck... Sending lots of labour vibes your way! x
