Question What did u use to bring it on...

k well im looking into herbal mainly like rasberry leaf tea (thanks heva for correcting me lol) n i heard lavender in the bath also

oh n sorry this is to maybe start contractions or help my body soften up for it..
    so what did u use??
ive heard the nipple stimulation but i think i might use a breast pump for that lol it seems to hurt n make them sensitive when i do it..

the tea will help tone your uterus, but it doesn't bring on labour. Not sure about lavender.
You're still quite early yet, so perhaps just waiting and resting might be your best bet at this point.
Don't pump if it hurts you - dont' want sore nipples before you've even started. Stimulation can help, but it doesn't need to be productive. Your DH could probably help you with taht...

Well I hate to say it, but I tried everything I could think of, (short of castor oil, you don't want to do that ) and she was still 10 days days past her EDD. I really do think they just come when they are ready.

But for the record, I tried - walking, sex, nipple stimulation, acupuncture, RLT, EPO, eating curries, eating pineapple... there might have been more, i can't remember

I remember how it feels to be waiting & waiting. Maybe the best thing to do is just try & enjoy this last bit of your pregnancy. Or make plans to go & do something special, that might work too - in my case it was DD1's dance comp on Saturday & I went into labour on Friday

I didn't really try much but I was 10 days over. Sex/orgasm was painful so only did that once. I also went for a few very slow walks and that's about it. For a number of reasons it turned out that the 10 days over were a blessing in disguise I say let bubs come when ready

I just posted a thread- "How To: Encourage Labour Naturally?"
    You should check it out!

Also nipple stimulation isn't recommended without the help or supervision of a midwife as it can sometimes cause unesassary strong, deep contractions that are painful and aren't needed for normal labour...

Hopefully you will find my thread useful & Good Luck!

Clary sage oil, EPO pessaries, acupuncture/reflexology - only ones that I haven't really seen mentioned.

RLT doesn't taste fabulous, but once you're up to 6 cups a day like I am, you don't even notice the taste anymore. Dark chocolate helps it go down real good

I did the clary sage oil, RLT, and EPO pessaries. All not the kicest things to do, I didn't think anyway...not sure if it help DS come, he came about 4days after his due date I think. I did have alot of prelabour though and by the time I got to hospital, I was 8cm dialated, so manybe it all helped me have an easier birth, but not actually bring it on, kwim??
RLT doesn't taste great, though I didn't find it totally repulsive either. I added a little honey to mine. I was drinking about 1ltr (at least) a day by your stage in pg! I used to make it, let it cool enough and just gulp it at once.

Well I tried everything and at 13 days over did do the castor oil (I still shudder at the memory) and 4 hours later I had contractions albeit prelabour went on for a further 3 days didn't really go anywhere and I ended up being induced LOL.

You can get RLT in health food stores. You can just get it kn tea bog form, or you can get it loose leaf too. Just looked liek tea to me!!

As for clary sage oil, I just put it in my oil burner while I had a bath, didn't smell the greatest to me though. But here's some other ways to use it:

1.Clary sage oil is used for aromatic delivery. Take cotton balls and soak them in clary sage essential oil. Put these balls under the expecting mother's pillow. The pungent fragrance emanated from these balls help in relieving muscle tension and reduces stress levels. The smell also helps quicken the labor process by intensifying the muscle contractions. Care has to be taken that clary sage should not be confused with sage, which is toxic for the baby. Sage essential oil is known to cause abortion.

2.Some women in labor prefer to apply clary sage oil on their belly. This aromatic essential oil is known to create a feeling of euphoria. This helps the muscle to relax and strengthens the contraction during labor.

3.10 drops of clary sage oil can be mixed with 50 ml of coconut oil. The mixed oil should be massaged on the palm and the feet of the woman in labor. It releases muscle tension and thereby provides the necessary calm and comfort to the mother. It also helps in muscle dilation, required for the baby to come out.

4.Soak in the goodness of clary sage essential oil to induce labour by mixing it in your bathwater. This relaxes the muscles and help in inducing labour. What's more exciting than going into labor with a peaceful mind and body!

I used time. Just waited. If I'd gone over by a few days then I guess I'd have tried a few things to make sure I was relaxed, but both my boys came a day or two before 40 weeks. I see you're 38+6, you might not even need to be thinking about this, maybe bub will come in a few days on their own.

I know the waiting is hard - can you do some things to stay distracted and relax? Shopping (even online) might keep you busy, plus you can knock some Christmas stuff off your list, massage and acupuncture both relax you and have sent some people into labour. I remember mentally preparing myself for going past 40 weeks by promising myself $10 pocket money for every day gone over. I was actually slightly disappointed to have gone into labour before 40!

My RLT was rather illegal looking I thought Tasted just fine with 4 teaspoons of sugar...

Just wanted to say I liked the RLT! Dont know if it was the brand you had or what but mine was ok with a teaspoon or 2 of honey. I've still got some in the cupboard I think, I'll check the brand for you

Raspberry leaf also comes in tablet form. I don't know how effective it is versus tea but my friend swore by it!
