... under a Tahitian lime tree. It's been sitting in my freezer for nearly 14 months, taking up space that I could be using for frozen peas and ice-cream.
DH, DS and I stood around in and said a little prayer of thanks, and asked for another little baby to come our way.
It was beautiful.

How many people do this??? I never heard of it til my mauri sister in law told me its what they do. What a sweet thing to do for your bubba.
Cherie, that would have been a very moving moment for you and Gareth. I was wondering what tree you would eventually pick![]()
sounds gorgeous hun! hoping the plant is fruitful in every way!
awsome! sending u lotsa baby dust!
What a lovely thing hope u get yummy limes from it!!
Hospitals cant stop you taking it home (unless something wrong with placenta and they have sent it to pathology for testing) just be careful what you plant it under as some plants can die from the nutrients in the placenta.
Hospitals check them and then put them in a bag and then in a big bin where they go to be burnt.
How lovely!!! Bet it was a wonderfull tearfull moment.
congratulations!! hopefully its a great fruit baering tree!
arquene's is still in the freezer to, i have to decide what tree we want to plant over it.
did you thaw it out first??
Congratulations. I hope your tree brings you lots of fruit.
I was thinking of burrying Abbey's on her first birthday. I want to pick a special plant out for her's too.
Ellissa, I "think" it's better to plant it frozen, esp if you have a dog in your yard.
I'm not sure about the frozen/thawed thing. I thawed mine, but because it's been cold here it only partially thawed and was still mostly frozen. I put a few inches of potting mix on top of it, then the plant, so that the root ball of the lime tree wasn't directly touching the placenta.
awww Cherie that would have been beautiful. I'm so glad you did that for you & your DH & DS.
