Hi Ngala

All the best for sunday, I wish you a beautiful birth and look forward to reading your announcement!

I'm being induced on the 31st July as my son has gastroschisis and needs to be delivered early. This is what they have planned for me...

I'll be admitted to the hospital 9am on monday, they will check the baby’s heart rate with a CTG monitor, then do a vaginal exam and insert the cervidil. I'll have to lay down for awhile then I'll be free to move around as I please but will be checked on a regular basis for any cervical changes, strength and frequency of any cx and to see that bubs is doing ok.

The actual induction is booked for tuesday, so assuming my cervix has ripened they will move me to to the labour & birthing suite, do an ARM and start the drip.

I'm certainly not thinking that this is the exact way it will pan out as anything could happen. The Cervidil may not work and I might have a c-s, or the labour ward might be full and the whole thing postponed...any pretty much everything in between. So definatley keeping an open mind but it's nice to know the general gist of things isnt it!

All the best!
