i can get passed it but then cant find my cervix up any higher
This is the bit that confuses me... If you can feel beyond that 'thing' then I'd think it's unlikely to be your cervix? But I've never felt mine so I wouldn't know. Just seems odd that you'd be able to get past your cervix, KWIM?
In any case, GL - your bubs will be here very soon!!!

Yeah it confused me to. I started a good thread on how to feel your cervix in the third tri section. Had some great info.
For me, it started off feeling like a volcano, sides that gradually built up to a ring of lips, then as I progressed further, the sides of the volcano shortened, the lips became very mushy then they started to diappear all together. But I could always feel his head inside the lips. But he was my 2nd, so I was always 1-2cm dilated.

It could be your cervix, and maybe you can feel beyound it because your cervix length is still a little long, but that's just a guess if it is your cervix. Maybe it could just be your vagina wall dropping a little under the pressure.

    Can you feel 'lips'?

I'll try a search to find that thread and post it for you...

    I'm not confused at all,
your squishy vaginal walls can extend 'past' the cervix. The cervix is not necessarily at the 'end' of the tunnel. My cervix is back, i.e. i follow my vagina, then feel back toward the tail bone, so it's on the back wall, and the front wall hooks back further before coming to meet at the cervix.
You may notice some sexual positions you feel uncomfortable (Or some people like the sensation) when the penis 'hit's the end' - this isn't really the end, it;s the cervix, and sometimes you can go deeper without the 'end of the tunnel' feeling because you are going past it (over or under, or to the side) depending where your cervix is situated.
I think you had your cervix MEEGM! Hope you had a wonderful birth!
Snacks - if you don't know, it's no point answering - it's just adding doubt to the woman's already limited self understanding! Try to find yours!!

    Thanks, I have tried.
My understanding is that the idea of a forum is to have a discussion? If we only responded to a post when we 'knew' rather than wanted to contribute to a discussion then I don't think there'd be much discussion happening at all.
It sounded to me at first read that the OP was reaching through the cervix - didn't occur to me that she'd be talking about the fornix - I obviously misunderstood.
The OP's welcome to respond and I'll apologise to her if I filled her with unnecessary doubt.
But I will continue to respond to whichever post I like. That's why we're on here.
