Gl hun, this happened with my 3rd, my waters broke but that was all, they sent me home and told me if nothing happened over night I would receive a call in the morning and that's exactly what I woke up too.
I was induced at 12.30 and had him at 1.25. And I must say his labour was the best one I've ever had,.,
hope your little one makes an appearance soon

Hi ladies well sorry to say Im still here & the saga continues. We went back to the hospital this morning & they put me on the ctg. I had a few small contractions which didn't seem to even register on the ctg....except every time bubs heart rate soared & then really plumeted .

Ive been poked & prodded & Ive just about had enough . They did an internal examination & took a swab, I have a shunt in my hand from iv fluid & I have to have 6 hourly lots of antibiotics via iv & ctg monitoring every time I go in.

OB says he'll give me untill tomorrow morning which will be 30 plus hours since my waters broke. The last ctg bubs heart rate stayed up but before that they were talking about whether his cord might be wrapped around his neck?????

I know there are far worse off than me but all I want to do is bawl my eyes out right now. I have to go back in at 5:30pm for the next lot & Im feeling really tempted to ask for pitocin... I dont know what to do

No dont be silly, no one can say that this is a stage where you have to suck it up...
Its very draining and extremely emotional, but huge 's you are very strong, One of my littlie's had the cord round his neck to, he had some bruising but he had other medical issues and ended up in the SCN. You are doing a great job and also doing what your body and your dr's are allowing you, just think tomorrow at the latest you will have your gorgeous little one in your arms and hopefully this will all be a distant memory..
Chin up babe, only good things to come.. xoxox

Lissy, an induction need not lead to a c-section. A good friend of mine was induced with both her babes and had them vaginally without forceps or pain relief (well she had gas but I reckon that barely counts )

I know it is hard but try to get as much sleep as you can

I am sorry that this is becoming such a stressful time for you. all the monitoring is like a curse and blessing all in one big phat go isnt it? it does seem strange that they have you on ABs? have you had a temp?

I have everything crossed that you go into labour soon and can begin cuddling that gorgeous baby boy of yours

Sounds like you have a team looking after you that are not going to push you into loads of intervention, otherwise you would have been induced already.

The Antis are to prevent infection as you baby isn't 'sealed' in anymore if that makes sense, every time they do an internal with waters broken there is a chance of infection iykwim.

Try and rest, meditate on the fact that your baby will be here soon, baby's can sense stress and may think it's dangerous to come out iykwim (in more of a primal sense) have a big cry and let do of all your stress, frustration and anxiety and then try and create a calm environment (easier said than done I know)
Good luck, you will be enjoying newborn snuggles soon!

Oh lissy, you are going to do great!
Just roll with it and even though induction isn't the dream way of labour it can be just as good, what you make of it I guess..
Just got to do what you can with what you have really..
But goodluck Hun!!! I'll be rooting for you and even though I don't know you I'm super excited for you!!
Can't wait to hear your little man is in your loving arms!!

Hey hun, just wanted to share my experience, cos by the sounds of things it was very similar to yours. My waters broke at 40.5 weeks. My OB knew how much I wanted a natural birth so I was given 4 days to go into labor naturally. I was on AB's (orally so could take them at home), had to check my temp every 3 hours and go into the hossy each day for monitoring. So, if you don't want to be induced right away, you don't have to be. You should be able to give you LO a bit more time, with the right monitoring and precautions.

My waters didnt gush either, just started to leak like I was weeing lol. The keeping leaking until I was ready to push which was 36 hrs later. As for the concrations, they will start in there own time, dont stress about that. Just keep walking and go to the hospital just to be checked, they will probably send you home anyway. Goodluck and congrats
