Funnily enough we signed consent forms for that 000 heroes show but they already started the first season and i think it got axed afterwards, we never got to meet Paul but strangely enough my cousins wife who came in just after Ava's birth, one of her best friends knows him, her cousin is married to him or something so we gave her a photo with Ava and her Pauly bear and she gave it to him, it's up in the 000 call centre apparently.

I am not sure about being calm, when i listen to the call i was a lot calmer than i thought i would have been and mum and the 000 guys said for someone of my age, my 1st baby etc they were quite surprised at how well i did.

#2 will def be born in hospital, i applaud anyone who wants a home birth but 1 lucky escape is enough for me, too much could have gone wrong for my lil angel.

you said it yourself hun - your body took over! probably hard to be panicked when instinct was guiding you.

hope you now have a nice soft stash of towels in the bathroom - just in case...

Wow wow wow! What an amazing story. Definitely one to tell the grandkids. You did UNBELIEVABLY well not to panick. Especially being all on your own.
I had tears in my eyes reading it. Wow!
It also brought back so many memories about Daniel's birth.
Yes, it is amazing how our bodies just take over and we're merely a passenger on this journey.

And about the lack of "detail": who cares about how dilated. When reading a birth story, it is the emotion of it and what the mother is going through that interests me. Not how many centimetres of dilation at what time (well, unless her feelings are closely related to the progress of dilation).

Beautiful birth and beautifully told. Thanks for sharing!

I love this story. I love how even your tone of writing sounds so calm and matter of fact. I would have been desperately scared and lonely without my hubby there!
