Sorry Kel but it doesn't. I have it here in front of me. The natural Jalna yoghurt has no sugar. The flavoured varieties are only sweetened with juice not sugar. Jalna has no cane sugar - the sugars it contains come from fruit (fructose) and milk (lactose). The sugar from most commercial yoghurts is cane sugar or processed sugar.

It is the cane sugar that babies are best not to have. That is why unsweetened natural yoghurt is best. If you add your own fruit to it it will have a sugar content of course but it is fructose not the very processed sugar cane that is used in most commercial yoghurts,
It is just another consumeristic trick that the big companies pull to make Mamas believe that it's all good...

All yoghurt will have a carb content as it's a dairy product which is a carb - it's the added cane sugar that is good to look out for for little ones,

From the Jalna website:

All Natural Ingredients

Jalna Yoghourts and Yoghourt On The Go are made from all-natural ingredients from wholefoods, with no added cane sugar or artificial sweeteners. Fructose, a natural sugar in fruit, and lactose, a natural sugar in milk, are the only sugars in Jalna dairy foods.

Real Fruit

The delicious taste of Jalna fruit Yoghourts or Yoghourt On The Go is created using real fruit purees and natural flavours. We use real apricots or berries or peaches or mango or apples or pineapples or grapes or bananas, so you can taste the delicious, natural flavours.

Nothing Artificial

But it isn?t just what we put into Jalna products that make them true to nature, it is also what we leave out. There are no preservatives, artificial flavours or colours and no food acids or gelatine ? the cultures (La-5? Lactobacillus acidophilus, BB-12? bifidobacterium, Lc-01? Lactobacillus casei) produce the ?set?, creamy smoothness and texture naturally.
